Out to Innovate™ is NOGLSTP’s biennial cross-generational summit that provides an educational and supportive environment for career development and enrichment for LGBTQ+ students, academics, and career professionals in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
Out to Innovate™ 2019 will be March 16-17, 2019 in Los Angeles, California, hosted by the University of Southern California (University Park Campus).
Registration is now closed. We are NOT accepting walk on registration.
Registration cost includes continental breakfast and box lunch on March 16 an 17, Gala Awards Dinner on March 16, access to all workshops and plenaries, and access to sponsor/exhibitor career fair.

Many people find it convenient to arrive to Out to Innovate the day before the conference start to pick up their registration badges, hang out, and get the lay of the land. Here are some entertainment options for you on Friday afternoon.
Tour of the USC Institute for Creative Technologies: An academic research institute, ICT brings film and game industry artists together with computer and social scientists to study and develop immersive media for military training, health therapies, science education and more. We’ve arranged for a bus to take you there and back on Friday afternoon. Reservation required through our conference app. Check your registration email for links to the app.
One Archives at USC Library
ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries is the largest repository of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) materials in the world. It is the mission of ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries to collect, preserve, and make accessible LGBTQ historical materials while promoting new scholarship on and public awareness of queer histories. A fairly safe one mile walk directly north from the middle of the USC campus. Open 10am-6pm Tuesday-Friday.
Exposition Park, an easy and safe walk south of the USC campus, is home to several popular attractions of interest to STEM folks:
- California Science Center: home to the retired space shuttle Endeavour and hands-on general science discovery exhibits. Open daily until 5pm. Admission to the permanent exhibits is FREE but a timed reservation ticket might be required to see Endeavour.
- IMAX Theater has stadium seating with a larger than life panorama screen. Features playing on Friday March 15 are Pandas, Volcanoes, and Journey to Space. IMAX tickets can be purchased on-line or on-site.
- Natural History Museum: Visit Dinosaur Hall, Butterfly Pavilion, Archeological Treasures, and more. Open daily until 5pm. NHM tickets can be purchased on-line or on-site.
Hungry?! Looking for fun? Description: If you are an early arrival and are looking for a great place with lots of food choices, check out the USC Village. LA Live is the leading entertainment district in Los Angeles offering six live entertainment venues, a fourteen screen cinema, the GRAMMY Museum®, and over twenty dining experiences.
